Last year since the Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney invested $2.35 million for Wrexham Football Club, the Welsh side has gained plenty of media attention, and major brands worldwide have offered sponsorship deals.
Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds and American actor Rob McElhenney bought the club through McReynolds Company LLC. The deal was accepted by 98.6% of Wrexham Supporter's Trust members, and the deal was closed in February 2021.

Wrexham finished 2nd in the table during the 2021-22 season, losing to Grimsby Town by 5-4 in the extra time. After the 2.78 million investment in the club, it seems the club has begun its course to rise.

As the club was waging a comeback, the Hollywood duo bought the club in February 2021 to save its heritage. After the purchase, a docuseries, "Welcome to Wrexham," was made, which premiered on August 25, 2022. The documentary includes how the actor duo comes about buying the club, its whole process, and why they choose Wrexham, in particular, to invest with their hard-earned cash. The series was aired on Disney+ all over England and Ireland.

On June 30, 2021, the club published its annual report, which covered the ownership of Wrexham Football Supporters' Trust until the actor duo took over in February last year. Most recently, Wrexham AFC announced their new sponsor Lucas Oil based in the US and European/Uk, headquartered in Anglesey for two seasons, after the sponsorship ended with Wrexrent. Lucas Oil and Wrexham AFC signed the sponsorship deal in late May 2022.

Lucas Oil is a family-owned world's leading manufacturer of engine oils, additives, and lubricants for the automobile. Having the global reach and reputation, Lucas Oil could establish Wrexham as a global force.

Furthermore, the club's other two previous official partners have locally based Walian Trailer Manufacture and Ifor Williams, which signed the contract in 2016. Country Property Auctions and Barlows joined Wrexham's official partnership scheme later.

In the last 20 years, Wrexham fans and supporters have endured so much heartache and disappointment, with bad owners, management, and sometimes bad luck. However, things have taken a few turns as the actor duo bought the club in early 2021, giving the Wrexham community hope for promotion.

The Dragons haven't secured a promotion, playing playoffs six times; the club has already played their 15th season outside the top-tiered 91 English football teams.

In 2021/22, his first season, Mullin netted 30 goals for the Wrexham team in the National League side. He finished winning the Player of the Season, Goal of the Season, and Top Scorer awards. 

Mullin declined the Cambridge United offer and switched to the non-league in 2013. According to Cambridge, the center forwarder signed three year deal with Ryan & Rob's Wrexham with a salary of whopping 200k euros annually. 

Apart from Mullin, the club made two other prominent signings. Aaron Hayden, who previously played for Carlisle United, transferred to Wrexham as an ambitious signing with a reported salary of 100k euros. He began his career with Chelsea and Wolves dropping down to National League.

Wrexham's other top signing was Ben Tozer, who joined Wrexham's squad, dropping out of EFL team Cheltenham for a three-year deal. Former Cheltenham captain and Newport County defender Ben left League One to join National League side Wrexham for 200k a year.

Not to mention Jordan Davies, Wrexham's product who scored 16 goals during the last campaign. The 24-year-old midfielder signed a three-and-half-year contract with Wrexham AFC, which will last until 2025.

Wrexham AFC seems to spend more money on players than an average top-tier league team pays, as two multi-millionaire Hollywood stars now back them. Just so their investment doesn't go in vain, the club management should certainly sign players who are in top-tier leagues.
