Who Is Michaela McAreavey Husband John McAreavey And Where Is He Today 2022?

Michaela McAreavey's husband John McAreavey today is living happily with his second wife Tara Brennan and their daughter. 

John McAreavey is a former Irish athlete and accountant. He was a member of the Tullylish Gaelic Football Club and the Down senior inter-county squad.

McAreavey was the captain of his Tullylish club. Tullylish won the Down Intermediate Football Championship in October 2010, defeating neighbors and rivals Annaclone by a point in the final. McAreavey was awarded "man of the match."

He has spoken at length for the first time about his grief following the murder of his late wife, Michaela Harte. When it comes to his late wife, the GAA star stated he would never use the word "moving on," and the tragedy of her death makes him fearful that Tara will be "taken" from him according to Sunday World. 

Michaela was murdered over a decade ago, but her husband John is still grieving her death. In fact, according to BBC, he is still looking forward to bringing justice to his late wife but fears the authorities have given up. 

The murder suspect of Michaela McAreavey has not been convicted yet. 

Avinash Treebhoowoon, Sandeep Moonea, and Raj Theekoy, three male Mauritian hotel employees, were eventually arrested for the murder. On January 12, 2011, they appeared in court in Mauritius. Treebhoowoon and Mooneea were charged with McAreavey's murder, while Theekoy was accused of the murder conspiracy.

However, they were handed a not guilty verdict by the court in Mauritius, but the investigation of her murder has not settled down yet.

During a press conference held in April 2022, the lawyers of suspect Sandeep Moonea stated that John McAreavey should be considered as the main suspect in the murder investigation. Lawyers Ravi Rutnah, Neelkanth Dulloo, and Sanjeev Teeluckdharry planned to request an arrest warrant against him to enable further questioning.
