Tiktok Video Showing Where Vanilla Flavoring Comes From Is Now Trending

People are being asked to videotape their responses before and after they Google "where does vanilla flavoring come from," and the results are hilarious.
A popular video on TikTok has stunned users by revealing the origins of vanilla flavoring.
They've only recently identified the source of vanilla flavoring, and it's disgusting.
Where Does Vanilla Flavoring Come From?
Sloowmoee, a TikTok user, created the original video with over half a million views. He drinks a vanilla latte in the video, then Googles the question before screaming, "no more vanilla!!!"
"I pick up the animal's tail," Joanne Crawford, a wildlife ecologist at Southern Illinois University, told National Geographic. 'Get down there and get your nose near its bum,' I say. People believe I'm insane.
Castoreum is a goo secreted by beaver butts from the castor sacs, located between the pelvis and the base of the tail. The slimy brown substance is frequently mixed with gland secretions and urine due to its proximity to the anal glands.
Beavers are reported to mark their territory with brown slime. The Beaver's diet of bark and leaves gives off a musky, vanilla fragrance. For this reason, food experts are eager to use it in recipes.
Vanilla Extraction And Source Detail
According to a viral National Geographic story, vanilla flavoring is derived in part from castoreum, a fluid released from the Beaver's bottom. These wild creatures secrete the goo to indicate their territory.
Beaver secretions have been widely utilized in perfumes and meals for over 80 years, according to a 2007 study which was published in the International Journal of Toxicology.
Castoreum is also officially categorized as a "generally considered as safe" addition by the US Food and Drug Administration.
Castoreum is said to be made in the castor sacs of beavers, which are found between the animal's pelvis and also the base of the tail.
Even though the chemical composition is a "product of the beaver's peculiar diet of leaves and bark," these beaver secretions do not smell like faeces. On the other hand, the brown slime has a musky, flavorful fragrance.
