Leo Varadkar is set to take over as Taoiseach, prime minister, and head of government of Ireland, after December 2022. 

According to Journal, Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party reached an agreement to make a rotating government, as part of the deal Fianna Fáil's leader will be Taoiseach until December 2022 then the position will be occupied by Fine Gael's leader Leo. 

Although that was the agreement, we cannot see any preparation going on at the moment. However, Leo will soon hold the position of Taoiseach after December 2022, when the Fianna Fáil's leader's term expires. 

Varadkar will assume his second term as the head of the government of Ireland. He has previously served as Taoiseach from 2017 to 2020.

According to the Independent, Leo Varadkar has accused Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty of abusing and mistreating a garda, leading to his detention and prosecution in court. The claim was made during one of the most personal and heated debates in the Dáil chamber in recent years.

Mr. Doherty previously mentioned corruption charges against Mr. Varadkar, which are being investigated by the DPP. Mr. Varadkar responded instantly, accusing the Donegal TD of "a very personal cheap shot" that revealed a lot about his character.

Leo said, “And it’s particularly strange coming from you because you were prosecuted. You abused and mistreated a garda síochána. "For that, you were prosecuted, you were found guilty. You got away without a conviction because of your age at the time.”
