Shawn Mckenzie From Sportsnet CA Was Arrested On Public Intoxication Charges

According to ScoopNashville, a Sportsnet reporter was arrested in Nashville this week on accusations of public intoxication and criminal trespass.

McKenzie was reportedly arrested on the morning of June 4 after fighting with staff at Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar, located on Broadway in downtown Nashville.

According to Metro Nashville Police, a 33-year-old Canadian Sportsnet Reporter was arguing with staff outside of Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar in the early hours of Saturday morning after being removed from the bar for acting inappropriately.

Likewise, McKenzie argued that he was not leaving because he had paid for a table. When officers arrived, they discovered him extremely intoxicated and verbally abusive.

Moreover, he was told he was no longer welcome and would have to leave on his own. He continued to argue with authorities until he decided to go independently.

McKenzie returned to the bar a few minutes later and argued with the staff. The journalist was arrested and taken into custody, charged with public intoxication and criminal trespass.

Public intoxication is a crime in most states, punishable by 30 to 60 days in jail. Depending on the state's laws, fines might range from $1,000 to more than $10,000. Aggravated public intoxication, usually defined as a third offense, is punishable by up to two years in jail in several states.

 According to Steen, McKenzie was lucky that he was released on a $200 bond and is due in court on July 1.
