How Old Is Spider Punk In Across The Spider Verse?

Hobie Brown aka Spider Punk is a 16 years old foul-mouthed teenager. Spider-Punk is an alternative version of Hobie and Spider-Man.

Brown made his film debut in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, voiced by British actor Daniel Kaluuya.

Spider-Punk is a 'Black' British, punk rock version of Spider-Man from an alternative universe ruled by a totalitarian regime. He uses his guitar as his main weapon.

First appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #10 (2015), Brown became a Spider-Totem after being bitten by a radioactive spider.

Soon, he proclaimed himself a Spider-Man and started fighting for freedom with his new friends Hulk (Robbie Banner) and Captain Anarchy (Karl Morningdew).

He fought against President Osborn's regime and utilized his free spirit as a radioactive suicide machine to assemble support from the lowest classes, which the regime was aiming to stamp out. 

Spider-Man joined the Superior Spider-Army after the Great Hunt began, chosen by the Superior Spider-Man for being rabble-rousing, angry, and unpredictable.

Following the defeat of the Inheritors, Brown returned to his reality after telling Spider-UK (Billy Braddock) to watch the former Inheritors Karn, who had killed countless Spider-Man.

In Across the Spider-Verse, Sofia Barclay voices Spider-Uk named Malala Windsor. He is an original incarnation of the comic book versions.

Miles is 15 years old and Gwen is 17 years old in Across the Spider-Verse. Gwen is 15 months older than Miles.

A younger iteration of Spider-Man, Miles was likely about 14 during the events of Into the Spider-Verse, as he was starting a new high school and was at a transitional period in his life.

This would make him slightly older than his comic counterpart when he debuted as a new Spider-Man at age 13.

The PS5 video game states the character is 17 years old. The game can be played on various media.

Across the Spider-Verse introduced Morales as a sophomore, his parents say in a meeting with a guidance counselor. He also tells Gwen it's been a year and four months since they last met.

This would make Miles 15, or at least 16 years old. He is still young for the amount of responsibility he has to balance. However, this is among the most common threads between Spider-Heroes.

Gwen Stacy is a 16 or 17 years old teenager in Across the Spider-Verse. Hailee Steinfeld, who is 26, voiced the character.

Bitten by a radioactive spider, Stacy becomes the one and only Spider-Woman of her universe. She was accidentally pulled out of her dimension by Kingpin's Super-Collider.

As Gwen, she joined a band as a drummer and became best friends with Peter.

At one point, her best friend became the lizard, whom she had to beat. She was devastated for being unable to save him and, hence, started to distance herself from other people.

She solely dedicated her life to protecting others and avoided any kind of distractions.

Gwen's spider-sense led her to Brooklyn Visions Academy -specifically to Miles. She later intentionally crossed paths with him.

Spider Punk and Gwen Stacy have a romantic exchange in Across The Spider-Verse. Several dialogues and scenes hint at a potential relationship.

Gwen hails from a different universe than Hobie but they share a strong connection, forged through their time in the squad of Spider-people protecting the multiverse.

That bonding rivals Stacy's budding romance with Morales, who has accepted his growing feelings for Stacy.

And when the two are back in each other's lives, everyone teases him about Stacy's bond with Brown, thus forming an intriguing love triangle in the newest animated film.

Actor Daniel Kaluuya believes Brown only joined the Spider-Man collective for Stacy as the team represents something he can't stand.

The whole dialogue "You left my toothbrush and sweater at my place" feels so out of place when we look at the rest.

But after the dialogue, there is no further mention of their relationship until Gwen gets the band he made for her to jump dimensions.

"Gwen and Hobbie aren't a thing, they play in a band together, that's why she crashes at his place, Miles is just jealous, Hobbie isn't a love rival," a Reddit user wrote to clear the confusion.

"Gwen doesn't like Spider-Punk she's literally in love with Miles. And Spider-Punk doesn't like Gwen like that," another added.

Stacy previously confirmed having feelings for Miles but hid that she slept at Hobie's place and avoided answering when Miles asked about it. Was she trying to gaslight Miles?

"Gwen is a teenager who's just as flustered and awkward about everything as Miles is," a user wrote.

Nonetheless, the film does not confirm their romantic relationship, which has left fans wondering about their potential romance.

There is also a conspiracy that says Spider Punk has a boyfriend called Captain Anarchy. But it appears to be a fan-made conspiracy, which has never been confirmed by the writers.
