Sierra Oakley Completed Her Education From Vet School Murdoch University

Sierra Oakley is a veterinary student. She moved to Australia from her hometown Yukon to pursue her career in veterinary medicine.

She joined StFX University in Antigonish, NS, Canada, in 2015 and graduated in 2019. Then, she decided to pursue her career as a vet and moved from Canada to join her class this March at Murdoch University. 

Sierra is highly thankful to the talented people who were so patient and kind in sharing their knowledge about each incredible species in Natuwa Santuario de Vida Silvestre.

She is overcoming her fears of some species and learning more about the ones she already loves. Also, she shared about her favourite snuggles with Porcupine, which is why she loves babysitting them.

Furthermore, Sierra is keen on helping animals with minimal procedures. Hence, she prefers laser treatment for a quick healing process. 

She even helps the animals in Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. 

She added that whenever she gets surrounded by animals and cares for them, these moments help get her through the hard days.

She introduces the animals on her socials and loves to dress them up. The kangaroo named Kali holds a special place in her heart. It has retrieved and recovered from the skin condition and being underweight.

She also shares about Crinkle, Baby Wombat, and Joey, orphaned and burned-in Australian wildfires. They are with the carer and will be released into the wild when properly healed.

She asks her fans to be kind to all living things, no matter how small.

Sierra felt so excited to be a member of the Disney family. She thanked everyone who supported her in the finale of her show in Nat Geo Wild in May 2020. 

While celebrating the finale, she had a car ride with Kenny which felt like the most stressful transport because of all the road closures. However, it was worth it in the end. 

Michelle's daughter Sierra follows her professional life as she joins the new journey to vet school. 

Michelle is proud to see her daughter officially start her veterinary career. On March 21, 2023, the TV personality shared the video where she went to Brisbane with her firstborn daughter. 

She took her older one to her first day of vet school with her. Although driving on the opposite side of the road was challenging, they finally made it.

She continued she could not believe to see off Sieraa to her career. She felt proud of her and asked viewers to follow her vet school journey on her Instagram and Tiktok. 

On June 2022, Michelle Oakley shared a journey with her girls while filming seasons 11 and 12 of Dr Oakley Yukon Vet.

In the previous episode, she takes a trip to show her daughter what it takes to be a wildlife vet and shares her love for the animal. 

In season 6, episode 5, Wild Cow Chase, the 53-year-old tracks wild cows while her daughter shows off her Yukon chops. 

Once, the mother-daughter traced and radio-collared one of the anaesthetized bears together. Also, the duo was thrilled to be part of the vital conservation work by DR. Philip McLaughlin. 

Michelle met the inspirational wildlife ambassador Jane Goodall when she was 11 with her mom, Georgia Plantinga. She again met Jane with her daughter in 2017. 

Oakley was born in a small family in Yukon, Canada. Her parents, Michelle and Shane Oakley, a former fireman, raised her with her two siblings.

Michelle and Shane Oakley got married on December 9, 1992. They were together for over 30 years. Sierra is the oldest child in her household.

Michelle Oakley daughters Sierra and Willow share the same birthdate. Both of them were born on July 17. 

Her sister Maya Oakley survived Covid a few weeks after she graduated from university. 

Maya Oakley is currently 24 years old as of December 2, 2022. The veterinarian has great bonding with her middle sister and shared an interest in sports in their school days. 

She has a lovely family who loves adventure, and they go on family camping trips every year. 

Michelle says they enjoy the journey because everybody laughs, fights, teases, and makes fun. Also, they sit around the campfire and don't talk but are together.
