Ex Bulls Player Alex Carrington Tased During Arrested Over Gun Charges, Here Are The Details

Police in New York revealed that former Buffalo Bills defensive end Alex Carrington was Tased following a chaotic brawl with police officers early Monday morning — before he was detained and charged with gun charges and other crimes.

Carrington was pulled down at 1:34 a.m. near Lockport, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, for speeding and driving without a headlight.

During the check, cops assumed Carrington was inebriated and requested him to exit his vehicle so they could administer field sobriety tests.

Carrington, according to authorities, refused to cooperate, and the situation became tense when officers claimed they noticed a pistol magazine in plain view in the pocket of his driver's side door while attempting to pull him out of the vehicle.

Carrington seemed to attempt to restart his vehicle and depart the area. However, authorities claim that this is when they tased him and ultimately got him out of the car.

Deputies said they discovered a loaded pistol and two additional loaded high-capacity magazines inside the car. The car was taken into custody.

Carrington was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, driving while intoxicated, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, second and third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, and a variety of other vehicle and traffic violations.

Carrington was arrested and released on a $5,000 bond after being arraigned. This Thursday, he'll appear in Lockport Town Court.

Carrington went to Tupelo High School in Tupelo, Mississippi, where he grew up.

As a senior, he had 84 tackles, six sacks, and three forced fumbles, earning him a spot on the all-region team. Arkansas State University offered him his lone scholarship, which he accepted.
