Jahan Dotson is from Newark, New Jersey. Dotson was a freshman, sophomore, and senior at Nazareth Area High School in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, and a junior at the Peddie School in Hightstown, New Jersey.

Dotson set school records for receptions (187), receiving yards (2,755), and receiving touchdowns (three) at Nazareth (40).
