Yes, contestants Patrick French and Charlie Frattini along with crew member Steve Rankin have been attacked by animals on Naked and Afraid.

The show's main challenge is to survive the wilderness by tackling obstacles they find in their way.

There have been various minor as well as major problems during the shooting of the show.

The survivalists have to go through severe circumstances. A lot of time they are bitten by deadly wild bugs in the jungle which cause them health issues.

Similarly, there is always a high chance of mosquito bites and leach bites which have a brutal after event and pain to the survivalist.

The contestants are particularly chosen as they are experts in their own fields and are skilled survivalists.

If the contestants want to win, then they must ensure they survive the hardships cast upon them.

They have to build their own shelter and hunt their own food and make strategies with their teammate to survive.

There were numerous queries on whether the show is fake or real. There has been speculation about having stories for every season.

But, the survivalists have cleared all the rumors about the program being fake. They had to push their limits to survive.

The season 4 survivalist Jason Szabo also came upfront and gave the required clarification to the audience on Quora. 

He even revealed that the contestant won't receive any help unless it is a medical emergency. He revealed that he got bit by banana spiders but it was not shown on the TV.

However, the program goes to great lengths to safeguard the security of its participants and keeps an active eye on them.

The channel also offers training on how to handle potentially hazardous circumstances and keep their medical staff on call.

The Discovery Channel show is not just dangerous for the survivalist but it is dangerous for all the crew members who work in the shooting location.

The Naked and Afraid producer Steve Rankin was bitten by a Fer-De-Lance in 2013.

He was in Costa Rica to check the location of the show for the new season of Naked and Afraid.

In an interview with Discovery, he described it as a severe ache that felt like being stabbed.

Fer-De-Lance venom is extremely potent and if not treated, would likely result in death.

When the venom starts to spread in his leg, it results in unbearable pain and he recalled that moment was the scariest part.

But luckily, he was able to get treated fast as they had their helicopter on standby. He had a total of five surgeries on his leg.

In the recent episode of the television reality series Naked and Afraid Last Man Standing, Patrick French was attacked bt Swarn of Bees.

The survivalist saw that there was a bee hive in the jungle and wanted to have honey so he climbed the trees inhabited by a hive of bees.

As he climbs the tree and try to cut out some honeycomb with his knife, but it was a hard challenge and he was surrounded by bees.

He tried five or six times to get the honey but they bit him everywhere, however, he was successful to harvest some comb from the tree.

Charlie Frattini was a survivalist in the first two seasons of the Discovery Channel Naked and Afraid reality show.

But his experience with the third season was a season to remember. He went through a hard time when all he wanted was to win the show.

In season three after he accidentally dismantles the nest of the ant, he had to win their attack. While running, his leg twisted.

The twisted legs caused him to quadriceps tendon because of which he could not run anymore and the ants found the opportunity to attack his entire body.

The doctors immediately suggested that he opt out of the show and start treating his twisted legs.

Frattini again returned to Naked and Afraid XL to continue the journey, which he could not in season three.

But the history again repeated when he was bitten by the forest's deadly mosquitoes and got complicated dengue fever which later took over his lungs.

No one has passed away on the Naked and Afraid show as of now. Naked and Afraid Last One Standing is currently airing on Discovery Channel.

Till now, every survivalist survived the show with hard work and dedication and managed to maintain their severe health condition even in the harsh weather.

However, the contestants had some close calls and went through physical and mental pressure while shooting the reality show.

Many of the contestants went through a series of issues and illnesses on the Discovery show. They have even been admitted to the hospital.

Contestants like EJ Snyder, Matt Wright, Samantha Ohl, Honora Bowen, and Manu Toigo went through the most difficult time.

Along with many other contestants, these are the ones who got majorly sick while shooting in the jungle for the show.

The survivalist EJ had to undergo one of the worst injuries in the history of the show. The tree branch broke and fell and injured his genitals.

The worst part was the injury started causing infection and had a major effect on his body, he had to go through stitches.

Similarly, in season one, Manu Toigo caught dengue fever, which caused her severe headaches and nosebleeds, but she made a full recovery.

Samantha Ohl has a near-to-death experience from hypothermia on the show.

She was the contestant in season 8. Her body temperature dropped because of cold rain and storm, and later she developed hypothermia.

Under medical advice, Samantha had to drop out of the show and later made a full recovery in the hospital.

While another famous contestant, Honora Bowen, is the one who faked a near-death experience to leave the show.

She later justified her action by saying it was getting hard to survive there and was taking a toll on her mental health as well.
