Facts About Michelle Bancewicz Cicale From Wicked Tuna 2023

Michelle Bancewicz from Wicked Tuna is the only female captain on the show. She started fishing at a very young age.

Her father was a recreational fisherman and they had a family boat that they used to spend every weekend or vacation on. 

She and her brother used to sleep on the boat during their teenage and work on the party boats.

She started her first job at the age of 14 and she just fell in love with fishing. Bancewicz also worked in a car garage and was also a waitress at a car for a couple of years.

Her family had a captain's license, which encouraged her to get her license too. Since then, she has been on the sea, fishing and making her fortune from it.

In an interview she said working on Wicked Tuna was a blast and a lot of fun.

Besides tuna fishing, she loves spending time with her two teenage daughters. She comes to the land because of her love for them.

Her younger daughter is usually on the boat with her but she is not interested in fishing like her.

But her older daughter recently started wanting to come out fishing. In the beginning, she just thought it was gross.

Now that her mother is on the show, they’ve started showing an interest.

1. Michelle Bancewicz Cicale caught her first fish in 2015 while working on a party boat when she and her friend hooked up a fist that was at least 100 inches.
2.  Bancewicz has an all-female crew after she bought her own boat in 2019. She didn't like how people assumed that the fish she caught before was hooked by men.
3. She and Lea caught their biggest fish which was 109 inches and at least 800 pounds. They caught the fish after fighting it for 5 hours.
4. She is a part of the No Limits Crew on Wicked Tuna. The show recently shared a video of them catching a huge tuna fish on their Facebook page.
5. Michelle is a very determined human and doesn't like to give up. She loves fishing and will continue to do so all her life.
