Canadian tutor and game show contestant Roach is no stranger to Jeopardy! world. She attained a 23-game winning streak on the game show from April 5, 2022, to May 6, 2022.

And now, the champ has returned for Jeopardy! Masters 2023, which released its second episode on May 9, on ABC.

Each episode consists of two games featuring three players in each game. Episode 1 included Game 1 and Game 2, thus, Episode 2 featured Game 3 and Game 4. Roach won Game 3.

Her journey to the final round was challenging as the participants have been a champion in the franchise's tournaments.

Roach competed against Amy Schneider and Sam Buttrey. All the competitors performed wonderfully and are set to return in the upcoming quarterfinals -five episodes/10 games.

Roach is among the most successful Canadians to play Jeopardy! and is named in the sixth of all-time regular season wins.

Besides, the Jeopardy! champion has captivated fans' attention through her expansive sense of style, piercings, nose ring, celestial earrings, and of course, exotic tattoos.

What Is The Tattoo On Mattea Roach Arm?

Mattea Roach arm tattoo is a scorpion and cowboys. She flaunts the tattoos while on the game show Jeopardy.

Visible in much of the show, the Scorpion tattoo may be illustrative of her zodiac sign, as she is a proud Scorpio born on October 26, 1998, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The body art is difficult to miss considering its sheer size and type. The champ further has a huge cockroach (bigger than the Scorpion) tattooed on her lower forearm.

The art is clearly visible on Roach's March 29 Instagram post, marking the end of the second day of Canada Reads.

"Ok a cockroach and a scorpion, I am fascinated and would love to know more," a fan wrote in the comment section. "LOVE the tat," a separate individual added.

In the recent Jeopardy! Masters episode, Roach appeared in a sleeveless dress, flaunting her full arm tattoos, and even shared a stunning picture of herself on Instagram.

"Bare arms full hearts can't lose?" wearing a jumpsuit from the now-defunct Nordstrom Canada but much more importantly showing off a sick @marshobrecker tat. Jeopardy Masters," says her caption.

It appears that the champ was talking about her cowboy tattoo, clearly noticeable on her arm, inked by tattooer Mars Hobrecker.

A fan wrote, "What are those cowboys doing?" "They're up to no good," Roach replied. "My dad is making me stop the Jeopardy show and see what your tattoo is and I still cannot tell!" another wrote.

"This tattoo collection is a major slay," another penned. Additionally, she has two roses inked on the side of her Scorpion tattoo.

The Jeopardy Champ Has Seven Tattoos

Roach has seven tattoos, including two leg tattoos. She has inked a Scorpion, cockroach, roses, and cowboys on her arm.

Two of Roach's seven tattoos happen to be music-inspired.

In a previous episode of the game show Jeopardy, she shared she likes the Talking Heads, an American rock back formed in 1975, and has their song lyrics tattooed under her both knees.

She has "same as it ever was" in one leg and "how did I get here?" in the other. Both lines come from the song Once in a Lifetime.

The song was released in November 1980 as the lead single of the band's fourth studio album, Remain in Light, via Sire Records. Talking Heads and Eno developed the album through extensive jams.

"I have 7 tattoos! Good for Mattea~~knew I liked her!" a fan wrote on the then-23-year-old. "She has good taste in music! #Jeopardy," a viewer commented on her leg art.

The Talking Heads are described as one of the most critically respected American bands of the 80s. Scottish-American singer David Byrne (lead vocals, guitar) fronted the band.

The band contributed to pioneering new wave music by combining elements of art rock, funk, punk, and world music with a clean-cut, anxious image.

Their 1984 concert film Stop Making Sense, directed by Jonathan Demme, is described as one of the best concert films ever released. The live concert is ranked as the 4th best concert movie ever by Rotten Tomatoes.

However, other critics have found the Jeopardy champ divisive and wish she would draw a veil over some of her off-the-cuff remarks between answers.

"Mattea stop trying to interact with the hosts like you're friends. Answer the questions and move on we don't need your annoying little side pieces," one viewer fumed.

"Maybe if Mattea quit the ad-libs and awkward hand gestures she wouldn't get so much s--t online," added another, though they seem to be in the minority, reported The Sun.

Fans Love Her Gen Z Vibe On The Show

Roach has a modern look added with nonchalant confidence. It helps that the dominating player is representing Gen Z on the show.

She has multiple piercings, including ear piercings and a septum piercing. She also has a cool silver septum ring and appears with beautiful and unique earring pieces on the show.

Not only does the 24-year-old stand out among her competitors because of her intelligence, but also because of her easygoing personality.

She is confident and brings her distinctive auro to the game show. The tousle-haired player made it through a 23-winning streak to gain whopping $534,984 prize money.

Roach's participation has welcomed millions of young fans who could finally see themselves as cool nerds. Inspiring, isn't she?

One Twitter user revealed her mom let her have her septum pierced after seeing Roach in the show. She has clearly managed to be a significant part of pop culture in a short time.

Her earrings and septum ring are particularly compelling as those aren't qualities we normally associate with someone smart or nerdy.

She stands as an inspiration as she breaks the glass by introducing a new look. Her appearance on social platforms has further maintained her cool-girl persona.

"Watching the Jeopardy Masters tournament and I wish I could be as cool as either Mattea Roach or Diane Warren's sweater," said one Twitter user following the latest episode of the show.

She had her astrological sign etched on her earrings from @ISLYNYC. People may have noticed the champ wearing the same earrings in every round.

Roach had bought multiple pairs of earrings but completely forgot to change these ones after her first game. And after she won two games wearing them, she figured "I'd better not mess with what works," -she tweeted.

Not to mention how outspoken she is and how she addressed her teeth criticism.

"A lot of people hated by teeth. I freely admit that I don't have great teeth. I'm glad I'm not somebody who's embarrassed by their teeth," she said to Toronto Life.
