Legacy BET Plus Cast and Season 1 Review

Legacy BET Plus cast includes Ving Rhames, AJ Johnsons and Lisa Ray in lead roles. The first season is available only on BET Plus.

Ving Rhames and AJ Johnson are reuniting on screen for this new show. The two previously appeared together in John Singleton’s 2001 drama Baby Boy.

Ving Rhames As Guy Simmons

Ving Rhames portrays the character of Guy Simmons, a prominent gangster and the patriarch of the Simmons family.

He has the most powerful crime family in the southern underworld.

Although Simmons rules the streets, a sibling rivalry breaks out as he fights for his life, endangering both his legacy and his illegal business.

But, all of his hard work is now in jeopardy because of his womanizing tendencies. His sons' mothers are feuding with one another. 

Also the actor was a part of the recently released film The Locksmith. He played a similar role in the film.

The movie debuted on February 3, 2023, where he was co-starred by actors like Ryan Phillipe, Kate Bosworth, and Kaylee Bryant.

Lisa Raye McCoy As Debra

Lisa plays the character of Debra in the series. She is the wife of Simmons in the story.

She is an American actress, fashion designer, model, and businesswoman.

The actress was also the first lady of Turks and Caicos Island. She is best known for her role as Diana Armstrong in the 1998 film The Players Club.

Her other projects like You Married Dat is yet to be released. 

From 2006 to 2010, she was also married to Michael Misick, the first premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and during that period she served as the country's first lady.

Adrienne-Joi Johnson

The show also has star actress Adrienne which has added more star power to the show.

Her versatile acting and screenplay will add as a bonus to the series and make people which will make people praise her performance.

She has been acting since 1987 and has been in many sitcoms, television dramas, and music videos, as well as countless supporting roles in movies like House Party and Baby Boy.

Johnson has also appeared in Touched by an Angel, A Different World, In the Heat of the Night, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Amen, and A Different World.

Clifton Powell

Clifton Powell plays the supporting role in the suspense series Legacy.

He is most known for his supporting work in movies with Ray, for which he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

Since the 1980s, Powell has made almost a hundred different movies. Menace II Society and Why Do Fools Fall in Love are among his filmography.

In addition to having cameo appearances on In the Heat of the Night, Murder, and House MD.

Powell also had regular parts on the television show Roc, South Central, and Army Wives.

The show has three episodes in season 1, all of which are full of suspense. The first season of the show shows an empire of liquor company called Legacy which the characters in the movie created. 

Simmons created the company and his image so that everyone respects him. He wanted his sons to live a clean life without any problems.

The character also has been divorced from his first wife, with whom he has a son Kevin. He also has a son Tysean with his present wife and Simmons wants to pass his fortune to both of them.

His sons start beef with each other on season 1. The show shows a dangerous fight and cold war within the family.

Even the description shows a family where the enemy may lie within, which gives the narrative of the show.

While many TikTok users have also posted some clips saying that they loved the show and show and always had them in suspense while watching the show.

Legacy premiered on March 2nd, 2023, and is only available on the streaming service BET Plus. The new streaming platform released the show at midnight 3 am ET.

It is an original series on the streaming service. It is run by Tyler Perry studios and Paramount streaming service.

While the subscription for the platform starts at $9.99 per month and is only available in the monthly plan. It can also be taken on a yearly subscription basis where the viewers can save up to 20% and will only cost $94.99.

The service has has over 2,000 hours of commercial-free content. The platform caters to celebrating American culture.

If the viewers want to watch the show they can add BET Plus via Prime video with the combined price of $24.98. It also comes with a seven-day free trial for first-time viewers.

It is also available on Roku as a Premium channel with the same price.

However Bet Plus is available for US viewers only so other countries have to wait a while to watch the show.

So if the viewers of the show are traveling to different countries they have to use VPN to stream the show.
