Since it was discovered that Kate Josephs had had a farewell party while the office was under lockdown when she left her position as the head of the government's Covid taskforce, she has been on paid leave from her £190,000-a-year position.
A cross-party committee was established by the council to evaluate its handling of the situation. The group met multiple times in secret and also received a report from an unnamed independent investigator. The investigator's conclusions were not made public.

Kate Josephs Wikipedia Bio As She Returns To Work After Paid Leave
Kate Josephs has held deputy director posts in H.M. Treasury and the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit during the course of her senior leadership career in the U.K. civil service. She started her career as a policy assistant at the Department for Work and Pensions.
She was in charge of national strategy, operations, and oversight for the Academies Programme at the Department for Education (DfE) from 2016 to 2019 as Director of National Operations for Academies and Regional Delivery.
Prior to joining the DfE, Kate worked for the U.S. Federal Government for 2.5 years in Washington, D.C. She also worked as the Executive Director of the White House Performance Improvement Council, collaborating with U.S. Government Agencies on issues ranging from veterans' affairs to STEM education, all with the goal of advancing and extending the practice of performance analytics and improvement.
