Jason And The Argonauts was filmed in Italy south of the Amalfi Coast. The movie was released in the year 1968.

An incredible story of courage, empathy, and retaliation is Jason's journey to obtain the legendary Golden Fleece and return it to his home country. Although it has been told in numerous ways over the years, its core stays the same: it is an epic quest.

Although it is thought that the tale was initially narrated around 1,300 BC, the most accurate and complete version is from Apollonius, the chief librarian at Alexandria, who wrote it in the third century BC.

However, his story ends before Jason gets back to Iolcu. The remainder of the narrative draws heavily from folklore.
