James Holzhauer Brother Ian Holzhauer Is A Naperville Councilman

James Holzhauer brother Ian has been working as a Councilman for Naperville. Ian had also been active in his current position since 2021.

Ian Holzhauer is James's older sibling who has been actively working to improve the community and society they reside in. This native of Naperville is a proud father and councilman to make his community the best place in America. 

Born to a German father and a Japanese mother, he and his brother were very distinct in looks and intellect. The current Councilman of Naperville completed high school at Naperville North High School. 

Following his high school graduation, he moved to Florida to study History at the University of Florida, where he later graduated in 2004 as a top student of his class. Continuing his studies, he moved to Georgetown, Washington D.C., according to his Linkedin account. 

There he was admitted to Georgetown University Law Center, where he recieved a doctorate in Law in Juris Doctor. 

During his university days, he fell in love with his wife Julie Malone Holzhauer. The pair married each other on August 12, 2006. The couple is blessed with four children of their own, two sons and two daughters. 

Wanting to serve the country, he enlisted himself in the United States Air Force, where he served as a Captain for Judge Advocate General's Corps. During his stay with the air force, he was a Chief of Military Justice in North Dakota and Guam.

After serving for more than seven years in the air force, he retired and came back to his hometown. He then served as a partner at the Naperville law firm of Nagle, Obarski & Holzhauer, P.C.

In May 2021, he was elected as the Councilman representing the City of Naperville.

His motivation and focus as a Councilman has always been on environmental issues, affordability, and promoting respect in the community. 

James Holzhauer parents are Juergen Holzhauer and Nachiko Ide Holzhauer. He was born and raised in the city of Naperville, Illinois.

The Holzhauer parents had moved to Illinois when they immigrated to the United States. 

As both of his parents used to work to make a living in the country, he used to be taken care of by his grandmother. Since his grandmother was Japanese, she spoke very little English. 

So, she used to pull her younger grandson together to watch the show Jeopardy! and always enjoyed it despite the language barrier.

James used to promise his grandmother that he would be on the show. Though she can't see it now, the star has fulfilled his promise. 

James had always been a very sharp-minded kid from a young age. Similar to his brother, he also attended Naperville North High School. Even his teachers were astounded by his intelligence which he had from a young age. 

When the star was just the age four, he made his teacher amazed by his arithmetic abilities. As per CBS 58, his teacher even developed advanced classwork just for him, which he passed with flying colors. 

Later when he was seven, he was moved up to fifth-grade math class and was even able to skip second grade. 

After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. There he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with majoring in math.

James Holzhauer is married to his wife Melissa Sassin Holzhauer. Melissa appeared on ABC game show, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. 

James and Melissa met each other in the early 2010s. Eventually, they exchanged their vows and got married to each other on September 8, 2012. 

After two years of marriage, the pair had their first child. She was a daughter who was born on the year 2014. The same year, she also participated in the ABC show, where she earned and brought a tidy sum of approximately $28,000.

With the meteoric rise of James through the show Jeopardy!, many people had been curious about his married life. This participant of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? was a native of Michigan.

As per her Linkedin account, she attended the University of Washington to complete her studies for a Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Classical Languages, Literature and Linguistics. 

Later she joined Brown University to complete her master's in arts with the same topic she took in her bachelor days. 

Since then, she has worked as a teacher and teaching assistant, teaching languages such as Latin and Greek. She had gone to Thailand as a volunteer to teach the kindergarten student. 

A few years back, she worked as ACT and academic tutor at Study Point in Naperville. But after leaving her job, she is mostly focused on taking care of her daughter back at their home in Las Vegas. 

James Holzhauer Has A Beautiful Daughter

James and Melissa Holzhauer had a daughter on November 9, 2014. The pair named their daughter Natasha. 

Currently, Natasha is 8 years old. So, she now understands many things that her family does for her. When she was still about four years old, her father wagered enough money that totaled to her birthday.
