The Walking Dead star Steven Yeun first met Joana through a mutual friend in Chicago, but she was dating someone else at the time; however, the couple eventually reconnected a year later during a chance run-in in a bar where Yuen was bartending.

The Nope actor mentioned on Martha Steward Weddings, "She walked into the bar where I was a shitty bartender, and it was kismet," he also said that after the rundown at the bar, he went on seeing her for six months every day. After being in a long-distance relationship as Yeun filmed the walking dead, the couple eventually got engaged in August 2015.

According to Distractify, Steven's wife was once a photographer, and she is not involved in the glamour business; however, she was often photographed with her husband and the crew of The Walking Dead. Though it is unclear if the actor's wife still claims the title of the photographer, many sources claim that she still does photography as she has earned an Arts degree from the university.

The couple dressed in classic Korean grabbed and said their vows in front of 220 guests on December 3, 2016. 

Steven Yeun was born on December 21, 1983, in Seoul, South Korea, to Je and Jun Yen, who named him Yuen Sang-yeop as his birth name. He holds dual nationality: South Korean and American nationality and belongs to the Korean ethnicity.

The Oscar-nominated actor is the son of father Je Yeun. He worked as an architect in South Korea before moving his family in 1988 to Canada and living in Regina, Saskatchewan. The family moved later to the United States and settled in Taylor, Michigan, then in Troy, Michigan, where Yeun lived until he graduated from Trou High School with his Canada-born brother Brian.

The Nope actor who portrays the character of Ricky Jupe Park was raised in a Christian household; however, the family spoke Korean at home. After completing his bachelor's degree in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience from Kalamazoo College, he revealed to his parents that he wanted to pursue an improv career in Chicago instead of enrolling in law or medical school.

Besides being an actor and taking on roles on television, Steven has kept himself busy with his family. The couple welcomed their first son Jude on St. Patricks's Day 2017 (March 17), three months after their wedding.

The couple also welcomed a daughter as their second child in April 2019. The couple, along with their two children, lives in Los Angeles. Yuen is also an invertor in The Bun Shop - a Korean Mediterranean fusion restaurant in the Koreatown area of Los Angeles.
