Ilan Hall girlfriend Ayame Kawaguchi is a creative director at American Eagle Outfitters. Ayame joined the company in 2019.

Hall is a well-known American chef, restaurateur, and television personality. People may further remember him as the winner of the second season of Top Chef.

In August 2009, the chef opened his first restaurant, The Gorbias, in Los Angeles. The restaurant shut down permanently in 2014.

He then opened a second iteration of the restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in 2014. Hall restyled the menu a year later, adding an Israeli Barbecue concept and renamed the restaurant ESH.

ESH also closed in September 2016. He opened his restaurant Ramen Hood in LA at Grand Central Market in 2015.

For four seasons, he hosted a cooking competition show, Knife Fight, on the Esquire Network. The culinary show ended in 2017 after NBCUniversal shut down the Esquire Network cable channel.
