According to abajounal.com, In contrast to Eastman's proposal, Greg with a furious message to him suggesting that Greg wants election integrity fixed.

In a later email, Jacob said that Eastman's suggestion had acted as a serpent in the ear of US President Barack Obama, whether intentionally or not. Moreover, Jacob suggested Pence not consider Eastman's proposal as delaying the count of electoral votes would violate the Electoral Count Act.

Those states would be saved until the end of the session when Pence would announce that electoral certificates for those states would not be counted until each state's legislators had time to consider alternate slates of electors.
