It is based on the book Dutch II Angel's Revenge by Teri Woods and Kwame Teague.

The Woods and Teague book story says Angel and One Eyed Roc, two of Dutch's lieutenants, were captured and sent to prison for life.

A legal technicality overturned their sentences, and they got released with plans to recapture what they had lost.

In the 2005 book, they all lost their lives in the plane crash, except Angel, per readers.
