A versatile and charming personality Don Lemon is an US television’s captivating journalist. He formally joined CNN in September 2006 as news anchor.  Officially, he was born on March 1, 1966 and Baton Rouge and spent his most of his childhood memories in same place Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States itself.  He belongs to African-American ethnicity or black ethnic group.  Though, He holds an American nationality. Currently he is living happily in Atlanta, Georgia.  He is now 47 years of age and still looks young, dashing and handsome.  He is tall enough with a height of 5 feet and 6 inches. He has officially declared himself as a gay publicly. 


Just After completion of his high-school education, he graduated from Brooklyn College in New York and Louisiana State University with a degree on broadcast journalism. He started his professional journalism career as reporter at NBC O&O Station WMAQ-TV in Chicago in August 2003 and also served as local news co-anchor.  Later, he quit the NBC and joined CNN in September 2006.After joining CNN he became the celebrities and his happy days just started. He became a host of the prime-time weekend edition of CNN in New York as well as CNN news anchor and presenter.


He is open-minded and crystal-clear on his profession at CNN and critiqued the status of cable news and raise poignant issues publicly about the network cable. Additionally, he had disclosed his remarks on improvement for the African-American community. He too raised voice against the racial discrimination and woman and child abuse issues.


He had an opportunity to coverage the 2008 presidential ballot votes and reported feedback the live coverage.  He interviewed with House Representative Rahm Emanuel who has been appointed as Chief of Staff for President-elect Barack Obama.  Also, he has interviewed with the oldest voter, 106-years old Anne Cooper in that time.  He has supported immensely including reporting and broadcasting many breaking news throughout his career in CNN.  He had an opportunity to report and unveiled exposed the both tragic incidents in Colorado Theater Shooting and Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012.  Since 2007, he disseminated factual reports such as: the Minneapolis Bridge breakdown and tragic disaster events, i.e., Hurricane Gustav in Louisiana; and untimely sad demise of pop singer Michael Jackson in 2009.   He had also demonstrated the wide coverage of top news about death of Joplin Tornado and Osama Bin Laden.  Both are documented and presented in the CNN documentary entitled “Race and Rage.”   In addition, he had also presented and reported news analysis on the Tsunami and earthquake occurred in Japan in the beginning of 2011. He is the key persons reporting the incident of Ferguson 2014. In process of his work he is even pushed by a police which is not a fair treatment and it’s a challenge to media industry.

Lemon has published his memoire entitled “Transparent” in May 2011 and revealed about his painful childhood as a victim of the sexual abuse.  He was disclosed about it with his mother when he was 30 years old that he publicly made announcement on September 25, 2010;and accusation of involvement of Georgia Bishop Eddie Long about sexual abuse in his Church for male teenagers.

He was listed as one of the 150 most influential African Americans by Ebony magazine in 2009.  For his milestone coverage on arrest and capture of Sniper in the Washington, D.C. Area, he honored by conferred the prestigious R. Murrow Award.   Besides that, he was recipient of several awards and recognitions on his commendable reports on HIV AIDS epidemic in Africa continent.  In addition, he was honored and awarded on his life-threatening or life-risking coverage and report on the Hurricane Katrina catastrophic.

In 2009, Lemon got married to Chicago native actress Stephanie Ortiz but not confirmed yet. He has also a boyfriend and partner belongs to white clan.  His name is Ben Tinker.
