Cameron was born to American parents in the city of Scarborough, New York, and belongs to the white ethnicity. Brought up in New York City, Young attended Fordham Preparatory school in high school to prepare for golf.

Later, he joined Wake Forest University, played professional golf there, and later made his professional debut in late July of 2020 at the Pinnacle Bank Championship, playing for Korn Ferry Tour.

The American Golfer is currently making headlines after leading the Open Championship 2022, shooting 8-under 64. Golf fans around the world praised his perfect shot, and he credited his father and coach for it.

Before the Open Championship, the 25-year-old had had three professional wins, including the Korn Ferry Tour wins in 2021 at the Advent Health Championship and Evans Scholars Invitational.

However, Young’s first professional win was at the Lenox Advisors New York State Open in 2017, where he played as an amateur.
