Critter Fixers is filmed at Critter Fixer Veterinary Hospitals with locations in both Byron and Bonaire in Georgia. Critter Fixers: County Vets has five seasons on Nat Geo.

The Nat Geo Wild program has a reality show format, with each production following the daily professional lives of two veterinarians -Dr. Terrence Ferguson and Dr. Vernard Hodges.

Both vets were born and raised in Georgia, Ferguson in Talbotton, and Hodges in Fort Valley.

Becoming the stars of a TV show was never what they thought. The two didn't even go searching for the opportunity. Instead, it came looking for them.

It all started when a production company out of New York approached Hodges via Instagram. "Would you be interested in having a TV show," they said. He ignored the offer, thinking it was spam.

Sometime later, he got a second note. Once a communication line was opened between the production company representative and him, he was asked to connect through Skype for a meeting.

After this, he shared the information with his business partner, and the rest is history. The show debuted on the network on March 7, 2020.

Critter Fixers Season 5 Recap

Critter Fixers Country Vets released its fifth season on April 8, 2023, on the Nat Geo Wild channel in the United States.

Disney+ released the entire season in the US on May 17, 2023. However, the geo-restrictions on Disney+ may make it difficult for fans outside of the USA to watch the series.

Season 5 is full of unique cases. Apart from typical dogs and cast, the show will contain some unfamiliar species, including a pregnant ball python, a sick Ilama, and a constipated tortoise.

In the first episode, titled That's a Morayl, the vets operate on an eel and perform a C-section on a snake. The next episode saw the docs remove record-breaking kidney stones from a dog.

Moving on, Hodges and Ferguson embark on their new "Vet for a Day" national tour. Next, they try to remove an egg from a cockatiel and treat a rescued pigeon with a surprising injury.

In the eighth episode, the vets try to milk an un-milkable goat and attempt to repair a turtle's broken shell.

They also see a goat with several bloating, a turtle infected with parasite "vampire worms," and a boa constrictor that refuses to feed.

The docs get up close with venomous snakes, send a diabetic canine on the road to recovery, and help a dog whose face droops. They further work to keep their clinic clean.

Talking more, the Critter Fixer stars lean on their vet skills to save a sick chicken, acclimate some wild bass to a new home, and help a giant schnauzer.
