Chante Moore and ex husband Kadeem Hardison were married in the 90s. They met in 1993 at a party.

According to RealityRealGossip, she told Ebony magazine that they shook hands, and he made a good impression on her. There was nothing special in their first meet, but they came across each other at the NAACP Image Awards and even were asked to present together.

When they were backstage to address the press, Kadeem told her they would make their own announcement. When Moore asked, he said they would announce they were getting married. 

Chante shared that he held her hand at that moment and did not let go of her hands that night. She also said that by the end of that night, they had already discussed thoughts about having children and officially becoming a couple.

They started to live together, and their relationship progressed. They would often spend time with each other and go out only when it was necessary for their careers. 

They were madly in love with each other, especially Chante, who said that her inspiration for her 1994 album, A Love Supreme” and the hit “Old School Lovin” was Kadeem.

As their careers progressed, the press asked them when they were tying the knot, but Chante had told Jet Magazine that she would keep that private. 

Chante gave birth to their daughter Sophia in 1996. And, a year later, they secretly became husband and wife.

Their marriage seemed to be working well, and Chante also worked in her music career and even gave the biggest hit to date, 1999’s “Chante’s Got A Man,” which was also inspired by the love of her life.

She also dedicated her album, This Moment Is Mine, to Kadeem. However, when the couple was one of the hottest pairs in the industry and seemed to be together for a long period, they decided to go their separate ways after three years of marriage. 

Kadeem filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, and asked for joint custody of their daughter, who was four years old at that time. Their divorce was finalized in 2000. 

The singer told Madamenoirethat they quickly became lovers, but as they spent time together, they became more like friends. She also added that she enjoyed his company as they understood each other deeper. As a result, they remained friends after the separation.  

Chante and Kadeem are popular in the entertainment industry, but their only daughter, Sophia Hardison, does not seem interested in it. After graduating from college, she worked as a Quality Assurance from October 2016 to January 2018 for 3BlACKDOT.

It is a company that focuses on building gaming culture and digital entertainment. According to her LinkedIn, she also remained as an Associate Producer in the company until 2020. After that, there is no update about her professional life on the site.
