Angelina Bakalarou Is The New Conservator On The Repair Shop

Angelina Bakalarou is the paper conservator for The Repair Shop on the last episode. Angelina Bakalarou was applauded in the show.

She tackles a crayon portrait, a portrait from the early 1900s. Painting over an enlarged photograph was a typical Victorian technique used to avoid spending hours posing for the sitter.

David's great-grandmother, a powerful woman, is depicted in the portrait.

William, David's son, can connect to the extreme deafness of Mary Fletcher, the mother of eight children.

Since William is deaf and, like his great-grandmother, has never allowed his disability to limit him. It is crucial for the family that the frail, flaking portrait be saved, kept on display, and discussed.
