Alessia Russo has a close relationship with her football partner Ella Toone; however, the relationship is not romantic.

The two are Lionesses who have found comfort in one another through the tough game of soccer. Naturally, many started speculating on the nature of their relationship, and some went on to claim that they were romantically involved. 

However, the rumors were refuted when Ella Toone revealed that she was dating Joe Bunny, a non-league footballer. Pictures of the couple vacationing in Ibiza following the final win made headlines and revealed her secret boyfriend. The two were seen happily hugging each other on the beaches in Ibiza. One of her friends said that the two had been seeing each other for some time.

Toone and Russo, nevertheless, are close friends who go out for breakfast and lunch together on multiple occasions.

Alessia Russo was born to parents Mario Russo and Carol Russo. She also has two brothers, Luca and Giorgia, in the family.

Russo comes from an Italian heritage and is a native of Kent, Maidstone. Her grandpa, a Sicilian, immigrated to England in the 1950s. Besides, she also has a grandmother, who she calls, Nonna. She recently shared pictures with her while out on lunch.

Her family has had a rooted influence on her interest as well as her career as a player. It all started with her grandfather, who played non-league for the Met Police. Her father, Mario, went on a similar trajectory and was Met Police's record-goalscorer. Similary, her brothers, Luca and Giorgio, both were football drafts. Luca, now, is her agent, while Giorgio is a former semi-pro footballer for Ramsgate.

Being the youngest in the family, she was made to play football from an unusually young age. We are sure the family garden was quite wrecked quite often in this household. It is her skills that she honed while playing with her brothers that became one of the catalysts for England's victory last summer. 

The football player is very close to her mother, as seen on Instagram. They go out for lunch and have also been on vacation together. It might have been an overwhelming feeling to have so many football players in the family, but her mother gives off a very warm feeling of love which has nurtured her into becoming the woman she is today. 

Her father and brother were non-league football players who most recently played for Ramsgate. Mario, her father, played semi-pro football for the Metropolitan Police, and her brother, Luca, will attend the University of Missouri thanks to a track and field scholarship.

It is no doubt that her interests have been long-running in her family before her. She has made her family proud of how far she has come in her career. She is very close to her family and loves to spend time with them.

Russo was just 16 years old when she joined Chelsea, however, she was released despite being the caption in the development side.

She then moved to Brighton but the move to a second-tier women football led her to have doubts about her career choices.

Her Move To America

Eventually, she choose to move to America by accepting a scholarship from North Carolina University. Many viewed her move as a way of finding of safety net by having a degree. She, however, claimed that her time in the US helped her become a better player in how American soccer taught her speed and athleticism. 

She went on to say that she loved it over there and was grateful for the degree she earned as an athlete.

Alessia Was Signed By Manchester United In 2020

When she came back to England in 2020, she was signed by Manchester United, a team she had cheered for since she was a little girl.

Her family member were escatic to learn this news as they have been life-long fans of the club. Her grandfather was apparently obsessed with the Busby Babes when they moved to England. 

The player won her first Player of the Year award for her performance in United in the year 2021/2022. She had scored three goals and two assists in her first five appearances for the team. 

Consequently, she represents England's women's team, and there have been rumors of her replacing Ellen White after her retirement.

 Russo has been a part of England's under-15, under-17, under-19, under-20, and under-21 age divisions. In October 2015, she defeated Croatia 13-0 to earn a spot in the 2016 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship.

Later that month, she defeated Estonia, scoring three goals. Russo scored five goals at the 2016 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship, including a hat trick against Germany in England's 4-3 semifinal loss. With nine goals, she tied for the qualifying lead in goals scored.

She has had a very steady career so far as a football player. But this is not all for the rising star. She has more to come in the coming years and is only improving. She also seems to be content with her career.
