20th Century Women is an American movie made in 2016 that was directed and written by Mike Mills. The movie sets in 1979 in Southern California and part of the story is inspired by Mill's childhood memories. 

The story follows Jamie, who lives with his single mother, Dorothea and two other tenants Abbie, a photographer and William, a carpenter and mechanic.

He is also best friend with Julie who often spends the night with him but has no physical relationship. 

Dorothea finds trouble connecting to her son as there is only minimal conversation between them. So, she asks for the opinion of Abbie and Julie. But Jamie responds by running to Los Angeles to attend a rock concert with his friends. 

When Jamie comes back, Julie says she had an unprotected physical relationship and was worried she was pregnant.

Meanwhile, he also goes with Abbie for a doctor's appointment, where she learns she is cancer-free.

Five-year-old Saroo lives with his brother Guddu, his mother, and his baby sister in India. As stricken with poverty, Guddu, and Saroo steals coal from freight trains for milk and food. 

During such a heist, Saroo falls asleep, but after waking up, he cannot find his brother. He searches empty trains only to fall asleep. But waking up, he finds the train running and when he cannot open the door of the train. 

Arriving at the new place and having no idea what people are speaking, he is in a great plight. He spends the night in the street but is forced to flee when a group of men chases to kidnap them.

Room is a thriller drama movie which is based on the book of the same name in 2010. The movie story is about a young woman who has been in captivity for seven years and has a son born in captivity. 

The story revolves around Joy and her five-year-old son Jack who lives in a shed called Room. Both mother and son share a toilet, bed, bathtub and kitchen with a single window for a skylight. 

The pair were held captive by a man named Old Nick and is the father of Jack. Jack abducted Joy seven years ago and violated her continuously. Though she stays optimistic for her son, she herself is suffering. 

Old Nick tells her that he lost his job and will not be able to afford supplies. She lets her son fake fever and Old Nick only bring antibiotics. To set her son free, she makes him fake his death.

Moonlight is an American drama based on Tarell Alvin McCraney's unpublished semi-autobiographical play. The movie presented three stages of the life of the main character: his childhood, adolescence, and early adult life. 

The movie follows the story of Chiron, who is found by drug dealer Juan who was hiding in a crackhouse to escape from his bullies.

So, Juan and his girlfriend let him stay for the night before returning him to his mother. 

Slowly spending time with Juan, Chiron begins to learn the basics of life from Juan. Juan encounters Chiron's mother, Paula smoking crack with one of his customers. Angry, he berates her, but instead, she rebukes him. 

Chiron hates his mother as she abuses him and berates him with bad words. When he asks Juan if he sells drugs and his mother does drugs, Juan answers correctly and Chiron leaves from there.
