As executive producer of the yearly event, Diddy took advantage of the opportunity, but many people were offended.
Diddy told Billboard before the ceremony that he was "un-canceling the canceled" by booking controversial singers Travis Scott and Morgan Wallan to perform.
Some didn't go well when Diddy gave an award to activist Tamika Mallory, pointing out that Wallen was "canceled" last year for openly using the "N-word" in a viral video.
