Hair Salon Shooting Dallas Suspect Jeremy Theron Smith -Is He Arrested?

Jeremy Theron Smith, 36, is the suspect in the salon shooting, according to an arrest warrant document acquired by NBC 5.

According to the arresting document, Smith's fiancée informed police that he was in a car accident with an Asian motorist a few years ago. He had had panic attacks and delusions that the Asian mob had chased him since then. According to the woman, Smith had also been sacked from a job after verbally abusing an Asian employer.

Smith was apprehended late Monday night and consented to speak with detectives without representation. He confessed that the red Honda Odyssey was his and that he was the only one who had a key and access to the vehicle, according to police. He also admitted to having two firearms: a.380 handgun and a.22 caliber rifle.

In connection with the gunfire at the salon, Smith was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The bond's amount has yet to be determined. It's unclear whether he's hired an attorney.

Last week, Dallas police said the salon shooting could be linked to two other shootings targeting Asian-owned businesses. Dallas police did not specify whether Smith is suspected of being responsible for the shootings or whether any additional charges will be brought Tuesday morning.
