Adam Stott And Kiptieu Sheriff
A mom, Kiptieu Sheriff, and wealthy businessman Adam Stott appeared on the Channel 5 show in 2020. Sheriff's story was further featured on the show's companion program in 2021.
She shared how she has turned her life since appearing in Rich House, Poor House, thanks to the help of a millionaire.
When Sheriff appeared in the show, she was a struggling newly unemployed mom of three.
Kiptieu was living on just £70 a week after bills and she even couldn't afford to buy birthday presents for her kids. At the same time, millionaire business consultant Stott had a disposable income of £1,600 a week.
After their first encounter, fans saw the businessman kindly offer Sheriff the opportunity to launch her own business.
He said he would fund the venture and assured helping out with creating her own website and advertising.
She happily took the incredible offer and now has her own commercial kitchen.
Where is she now?
After taking the offer, Sheriff established her own company Bongo's Kitchen with Adam still helping her behind the scenes.
She does the cooking while the businessman helps in marketing.
She said, "When an opportunity like this knocks on your door, you go for it."
Sheriff and Stott were also shown recording a short social media clip while standing in Bongo's Kitchen.
The single mum confirmed her income had increased 10 times than her earlier income.
James Caddy And Antony Williams
Antony Williams from Weston-super-Mare swapped homes with wealthy James Caddy and his family in March 2017.
A father of six children, the warehouse worker and his wife, Kayleigh, often had a hard time making ends with their limited budget of £110 a week whereas Caddy had a whopping budget of £1,741.
The two fathers eventually formed a friendship after the Channel 5 show aired. James and Antony were also featured in the follow-up "Changing Lives" episode after a year.
Antony revealed how he has been receiving offers of help from strangers since the episode.
The Williams family received new trainers as gifts for his kids, a washing machine, and most notably an offer from Bristol university as he had a keen interest in studying physics.
How did his life change?
In the revisit episode, Caddy and Williams visit Briston University to learn how the physics enthusiast could enroll as a mature student and fulfill his greatest dream of studying physics.
He was all set to enroll in the first year of his course at his local college in September 2018 before then attending the Bristol campus the following year.
Being friends with James has definitely changed his lifestyle for the better.
Roy Ledgister And Rebecca Bigginton
A single parent of two young kids, Rebecca Bigginton took part in the famous Channel 5's show. She swapped lives with wealthy property entrepreneur and barrister Roy Ledgister.
The aspiring single mum and carer spent seven days in Ledgister's Kent estate, with his three lavish properties and swimming pool.
She used to make £64.05 a week and was on benefits before signing up for the show.
She got to enjoy the luxuries of the barrister's life and a whopping budget of £1,750 a week. Her sister, Jenny, and two boys, Finley and Roman, joined her in the show.
Meanwhile, the barrister is joined by his business partner and best friend Richard.
They temporarily moved to Becky's two-bed Sussex council house, leaving his usually lavish lifestyle. Bigginton's limited budget comes as an initial shock to the duo.
Roy becomes emotional after learning about the other half's reality and the sacrifices she has made for her family, as the entrepreneur was also raised by a single mother in London.
Bigginton received a life-changing offer
After a week of the swap, Roy and Becky experienced things they never thought they would. Her business acumen wows Roy's colleagues and the boss himself.
She gives incredible ideas at his property business to promote affordable living and social housing spaces for those in need. She further pitched some more social housing ideas after meeting with the entrepreneur.
Blown away by her prowess, Roy said, "I think you could bring a bit more color to the set-up, so if you’re up for it, I’d love to have you help us as a consultant." The single mother is almost rendered speechless after his proposal.
She immediately accepts the offer and reveals she can't wait to get in and change her -especially her sons'- fate forever.
Ayo Gordon And Jodie Hannibal
Struggling mum Jodie Hannibal swapped lives for a week with millionaire Ayo Gordon in Rich House, Poor House.
When she was living on £54 a week, the self-made millionaire had a disposable income of about £1,400 per week.
Hailing from Hatfield, Jodie worked as a youth worker before being forced to leave the job to take care of her two-year-old son during the pandemic.
She was thrilled to have been able to experience how the other half lives on the Channel 5 show.
Left with only £53 a week to live on, she admits she was caught in the poverty trap. Meanwhile, the entrepreneur lives in a multi-million-pound luxury riverside apartment in London.
Ayo offered her an amazing opportunity
At the end of the swap, Gordon and Hannibal finally meet. The struggling mum was then offered a lifeline by a rags-to-riches millionaire on the show.
She couldn't be happier when Ayo offered to mentor her.
Realizing the extent of Hannibal's financial struggle, Ayo and his business partner, Patrick, offers to help her with their mentoring services that assist people struggling with debt.
Amazed Hannibal said, "That's amazing, I really appreciate that.” The single mum was delighted to have someone who could guide and mentor him in the right way to build herself.
Angel And Santana
Married couple Angel and Santana swapped their one-bedroom council flat in Notting Hill with millionaire Harry's luxury apartment in Shoreditch.
Harry has offices in the UK, the US, and Australia. He shares his apartment with his flatmate and best friend, Hadia, whose wealthy family lives in Qatar.
She has a passion for fast cars and came to London to pursue a career in film.
Angel worked at a decorating shop and his wife is a stay-at-home mother of two. After rent and bills and couple's weekly spending budget is £67.
Angel dreams of working in digital marketing while his wife wants to sell her skincare products.
Sanatana has developed a range of products but doesn't know how to market them. They are frustrated and both want the same thing from the swap to meet someone really kind to give them a kickstart.
The Millionaire helps the couple start their business
Before returning home, Harry and Hadia arranged to meet Angel and Santana at a posh hotel to talk about their weeks. Both families talked about their very different experiences.
Harry and his partner shared they have thought of ways to possibly help the struggling couple.
The millionaire then gave Angel his first SEO content brief, a guide that helps a writer create website material for a client.
He would receive £50 for doing each one of those. Harry also rebuild Santana's website using Hadia's pictures.
This way, the couple could get consistent revenue to start helping their family move into a bigger place.
Harry said he is blessed to be able to give them the opportunity to start making a significant difference in their life. The overwhelmed couple couldn't hold their tears and expressed their gratitude.
Jamie And Lee Fox
Jamie and Lee Fox swapped homes with rich couple Jessen and Lorna James in February 2020. The pair were revisited after a year.
A mother of three Jamie couldn't believe her fortune when she went from living on a tight budget of £50 a week to £19,000.
But regardless of trying various business ventures, she and Lee had pulled themselves into £20,000 of debt.
As the swap week ended, the pair came together for their first meeting, and rags-to-riches millionaire Jessen offered to guide and mentor Jamie to help her give one of her business ideas a good start.
The struggling mother became tearful after receiving the offer. Jessen wasted no time in paying for her to attend one of his business training programs near London.
The pair managed to transform their lives
With proper help and guidance from Jessen and Lorna, Jamie and Lee successfully transformed their life by establishing their own cleaning company in just a year. The wealthy couple also helped them deal with their debt.
Jamie says, "It’s not gone, it will take a long time for it to be gone." Jessen still helps her with her business and is dedicated to taking it to the next level.
The mother is now fully dedicated to growing her own cleaning company and finally clearing her debt alongside Lee.
Ben Gowland And His Wife Demi
Ben Gowland and his wife Demi swapped their lifestyle with business owners Steven and Gemma Green in 2019. The pair lived on a weekly budget of £57.
For the swap, the Gowland family enjoyed a whopping budget of £1,600 for the week. Stunned by the sight of so much money, the pair had a takeaway on the first night of the week.
Living such high life for a week left the couple inspired to change their lives. The businessman even offered him a sales and marketing job in one of his businesses.
He also didn't waste time paying for Demi to enroll in a beauty course.
The course allowed her to start her new business and double her weekly income in the first week. Her beauty business is home-based, which helps her to take care of her child.
Ben also made his first sales on his third day working for the business. He was more than shocked to receive his first paycheck.
The show sees Ben quadruple his income
With the help of Steven and Gemma, Ben got to work on one of his businesses while his wife started her own home-based beauty business.
Demi doubled her weekly income in the first week, while Ben received his first check of a whopping £3,500.
He said he had quadrupled his wages compared to his previous income. He added it was a massive relief to know the bills would be paid every month.
The couple moved to their place, intending to purchase their first property soon.
