Why Is Kontji Anthony Leaving Channel 5? 

WMC-TV Action News 5 evening co-anchor Kontji Anthony announced that she would not renew her contract when it ended in April in a letter dated March 7.

Anthony says her time at Action News 5 has been improving, but after more than 28 years in the business, "it is the time for me to pursue a new direction."

Anthony went to work for WCBS in New York as an assignments desk assistant and field producer. She then went to KTVO-TV in Kirksville, Missouri, where she worked as a reporter. 

Kontji is a part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the National Association of Black Journalists. He studied at Howard University's School of Communications.

Kontji Anthony Wife: Who Is Patrick Hendricks?

Anthony has a wonderful marriage with Patrick Hendricks. On July 4, 2015, the pair wedded in Memphis, Tennessee, in a beautiful wedding ceremony witnessed by close friends and relatives.

Apart from that, she hasn't shared any details about her husband. The pair were frequently spotted by the public traveling together. It's still unknown whether the couple has children or not.

Kontji Anthony was born on October 7, 1971, to loving and caring parents in New Rochelle, New York, in the United States of America. 

Her father's name is Dorris Anthony, an African American from Mississippi. Dorris was an entrepreneur and investor who passed in 2017. 

Kontji's mother's details are missing at the moment. She grew up with her siblings, Lisa Anthony Carvings, Aurora Anthony Gross, and Johnita Anthony Gefell. 

Anthony visited the Institute of Spanish Studies, where he studied language and culture. She moved on to Howard University to get a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.

She stated in an interview, "I leave Action News 5 with an appreciation for my colleagues and fond recollections of the many extraordinary relationships that I have cultivated over the years."
