Olympic champion, Katie Archibald is a racing cyclist who represents Great Britain and Scotland in cycling events around the globe.  Archibald's romantic relationship was often linked to the professional mountain biker, Rab Wardell, who met his untimely demise at the age of 37.

Archibald's rumored partner had a cardiac arrest while he was in bed with his beloved partner. After the incident, Katie went on to Twitter to pay her late partner a tribute. As she mentioned, she tried everything she could to revive him. The paramedics were in the house within minutes but his heart was already stopped. The medical team couldn't save the biker.

Cardiac arrest can be fatal if speedy care is not given to the one suffering. As the pumping is disrupted, no blood can get to the brain and lungs, which reduces the chances of survival. The first few minutes are very crucial. As in Wardell's case, he was already gone when the paramedics came to resuscitate him.

Katie also shared how much she wanted the biker in her life and the pain was simply indescribable for her. Katie emotionally wrote, 'I can't bear to talk about him in the past tense' which tells us how close both were as a partner.

Two days after winning the elite men's title Scottish MTB XC Championships, Wardell died of cardiac arrest leaving his loved ones and fans in turmoil. Katie Archibald's partner was a guest on The Nine program of BBC Scotland on Monday to talk about his win.

Little did he know that he would be taken from us the following morning. After his death was revealed, his fans, teammates, and biker enthusiasts started pouring emotional tributes to his passing.

Though several media portals claimed Archibald's relationship with late bike rider Rab Wardell, nothing has been confirmed thus far. However, Wardell occasionally used to share pictures with his rumored girlfriend. No high-profile figure has ever confirmed the two cyclist's relationship. The first time Wardell ever shared a photo together with his partner Archibald was in June 2019. So, we can safely conclude they had been together since mid-2019.

Wardell was born in Dunfermline, a Scottish town where he learned mountain biking. After age 15, he took cycling and mountain biking as a sport; before it was like a hobby for him. 

Archibald won her first Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Tokyo Olympics. In the 2020 Olympics, she went on to win the silver medal. She made her cyclist debut with Great Britain playing at the 2013 European Track Championships where she won a gold medal and broke the world record. In 2014, won the team pursuit championship at World Track and became the first female track cyclist champion. Before she rose to fame, Katie was a swimmer; it was later that she switched her career to Cycling. Katie was born on March 12, 1994, in St. Peter's Hospital, Chertsey, England. Her father Ian Archibald was also a cyclist.
