Are Nicolle Wallace And Mike Wallace Related?

Despite sharing a last name and being media professionals, Mike Wallace and Nicolle Wallace are not related.

Known mostly for his work on the televised show 60 Minutes, Mike Wallace was an American television reporter and interviewer.

On April 7, 2012, Wallace passed away peacefully at his home in New Canaan, Connecticut. His passing was reported by Morley Safer on 60 Minutes the following evening.

A complete 60 Minutes broadcast was devoted to commemorating Wallace's life and aired on April 15, 2012. Wallace, who received multiple Emmy Awards, interviewed some of the most well-known and influential people around the globe.

Despite the fact that they both worked in the media and shared the same last name, Mike Wallace is not related to Nicolle Wallace. 

Nicolle's parents are Americans, while Mike's parents are Russian Jewish immigrants. On the other hand, Nicolle's grandpa was born to vaudevillian parents in England and immigrated to America with his family in 1947.

Furthermore, the surname of Mike's family was originally Wallik.

Television host and author Nicolle Wallace is well-known for her work as the host of the MSNBC political news program Deadline: White House. The 50-year-old political analyst is a former co-host of the ABC daytime chat show The View.

Insight On Mike Wallace Family 

Mike Wallace was born to a Russian Jewish family in Brookline, Massachusetts. He listed himself as a Jew and insisted throughout his life that it was his ethnicity. His father was a grocery store owner and an insurance agent.

Peter Wallace and Chris Wallace were Wallace's children from his first marriage to Norma Kaphan. In 1962, a mountain climbing disaster in Greece claimed the life of his elder son, Peter, who was only 19 years old.

Chris, his youngest son, continued in his father's career path and became a journalist.

The journalist married for the second time to Gladys Swarthout's stepdaughter, Patrizia "Buff" Cobb, an actress, from 1949 to 1954. Beginning in the early 1950s, they were the Mike and Buff Show hosts on CBS.

He went to marry two more times to Lorraine Périgord and Mary Yates.

Mike Wallace died at the age of 93 on April 7, 2012, in New Canaan, Connecticut, U.S.

He began his career as a radio announcer and newscaster in 1939, working on talk shows, serials, and the news, among other programs, after earning his degree from the University of Michigan.

During World War II, he worked as a navy communications officer before being employed as a radio reporter in Chicago. He started working in the television industry in the 1950s, hosting many game shows.

Wallace began working for CBS in 1963 as a reporter, and from the show's debut in 1968 till 2006, he served as co-editor of 60 Minutes.

Mike Wallace Salary Disclosed

Although Mike Wallace never disclosed his salary to the public while he was still alive, it is thought to have ranged from $400K to $6M.

His youngest son, Chris Wallace, made $20,000 USD per year when he started his network journalistic career in 1975 with NBC. At the time of his departure, he was earning more than $200,000. 

The most recent tax records indicate that Chris has a net worth of $29 million. Chris's annual pay under his current CNN deal is $12 million.
