Amara was born on February 8, 1995, in Russia. Her mother hails from Russia, while her father is from Sierra Leone. As a result, Amara is half-African and half-Russian. Growing up in Russia with a mixed racial background was difficult for Amara as for her parents to raise her due to racism that was so widespread at the time.

At a very tender age, Djouliet Amara immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada, with her parents. Her parents decided to move to Canada to give their daughter a bright future and a surrounding that didn't entertain racism.

Amara didn't disappoint her parents as she grew to become a known figure in the entertainment industry. 

It might surprise you, but the acting was not her first love. As a child, dancing was her thing. Amara loved expressing herself through different moves and stuff.

Her dancing skills became apparent with time, and her parents enrolled her in a local dance studio. After moving to New York City from Canada, Amara took dancing lessons at Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre to further her dancing skills.

Seems like dancing and acting is not the only thing Amara likes. She has a keen interest in fashion as well. Amara has already lived in Russia, Canada, and the United States of America for quite an amount time. Having lived in three countries already, Amara knows how different people and their culture differs from one another. 

Getting to know those people and having a chance to explore their culture seems enthralling to her. As of recently, she is enjoying her vacation in Italy. She loves spending time outdoors, especially in nature, where she can breathe a sigh of relief being away from the daily grind. 

Amara has a special affinity for acting. Although she doesn't have many acting credits named on her resume, it comes naturally to her as she feels confident being in front of the camera.

Working as a model made things easy for her when she stepped into acting and performing.

Although she has few acting credits, Amara has worked on some great projects, including a television drama series, "Riverdale". Her recent acting credits are Netflix's original miniseries, Devil In Ohio, where she plays Tatiana for four episodes. The miniseries aired on Netflix last Friday, September 2. Amara guest-starred Nancy Woods in an episode of Riverdale in 2021.

Before working actively as an actress, Amara modeled for numerous brands. The 27-years-old actress and dancer have previously worked with some major brands worldwide. She had modeled for luxurious brands like Nike and Chanel.

Djouliet Amara is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community as she identifies herself as a queer. In an interview with Karina Michel Feld, Amara mentioned her sexuality and revealed she identifies as queer. She has learned to embrace her identity.

On her recent trip to Italy, Amara shared several pictures with her supposed boyfriend, Alec Gewirtz. On her Italy diaries, Alec appeared in an Instagram boomerang clip, where the pair is seen making dancing moves.
